Vaaranum Aayirum....

U Swept Me Off My Feet!

His eyes talk wen he comes on screen! more than the movie i loved SURYA! .. man his smile and eyes are truly magical.. :) .. as for the film.. it wasnt the vaaranum aayiram i expected.. although tremendous efforts have gone behind it ( which evidently shows) i found the movie aimless! if the one line story was "tribute to dad or ( daddy) '.. then sorry.. i found daddy less and love between the hero and the heroine more! the amount of daddy shown was as much as any other family movie wud show! and how bout mommy! even she was there for him every min!

His father sure was a keen observer of his kid's activities and kept him going on the right path..but wats the point after all that teaching and kid surya saying dad is my hero wen he couldn't confide with him wen he was in a dire need of affection and attention! Neither did he go to his dad and say see i am not able to get out of this nor did his dad observe that his son was doing drugs...he took his own decision of taking all that and more of wat his "hero" had told him not to! and wat I liked about the movie was his road fight in his school days… it was amateur… but that’s how fights at that age take place…it looked realistic.. not like the other fights in other commercial movies where the hero irrespective of whether they are thin or muscular, school kid or college lad or a grown up.. parundhu parundhu adipaan! As if bruce lee’s aavi had got into them! without any training they wud hit professionally! … So I just enjoyed that scene and his dialogue after that “thanks da adikarthuku! Na Amrita kude pesuven! Ava dha indha kayathuku kude marundhu poduva! ”.. LOL! And i also like the train scene... was quite romantic wen he strums his guitar and sings the song for her.. and i must say.. surya has a good voice! he could start singing for songs like simbu.. i am sure it wud sound good with all the modulation with the music console!

But wen u see the movie on the whole… each section of it, let it be his childhood or school days, or college life, or him going to U.S. just for his girl, drugs and finalllly his daddy’s death and army and divya, was nice… the songs and its choreography was amazing.. Most of the steps innovative and new.. But I felt that the dance was not at all required for the slow melodious song “nenjikul paidhidum” … it wud have been nice if it was just a montage of scenes of them together… but I loved the mundhinum song for the art direction and costumes… took me to the kadalika nerum illai era!

Sameera, Divya and Simran have done a justice to their characters... divya surprisingly has underplayed and supported the situations well... Simran was at her charming best.. she sis look like the heroines of the yester years with that mai kurvali and jerberas on her head! Sameera did a decent job too... not much of scope for the ladies.. but wat a performance by surya! he actually looked like the neruku ner surya during the school days scenes! wow! i never thought he could manage to look like that! and his efforts in the gym show! Surya is our answer for aamir khan and salman! wow! no prob in him showing off his six pack and arms in the movie! ;D!

I wish Gautham Vasudev Menon ( as he wud liked to be called so) had divided each of these sections into different movies…each of the scripts had the potential to get spun into beautiful movies… and wud have given us more of Surya’s movie treats!

Loveology....

Loveology!??*

Confused

by Jennifer Wooters

Some days you seem so close
like you stand right before me
But then the next day you seem so far
like each other we can't see,
Each day is like a roller coaster
with my stomach turning upside down
You stand there looking
but yet you don't utter a sound,
I feel so confused and
my heart is being torn at its seams
And every night that I sleep
you seem to linger in my dreams,
Every time I look at you
I forget all my thoughts
And right then and there
it's you that my heart has sought,
Every time I hope
it turns into something bad
So for right now I'll stop thinking
And maybe things won't end up sad.

Oh god! i have to meet crack pots everyday at least once to provoke me and get me agitated when am actually trying to reduce my anger! as i was writing this article a stupid guy who was painting the ground floor of my building switched off the electricity main! darn! i was writing with this beautiful string of thoughts all lined up neatly and was just concluding when Buff! the computer got switched off and this article didn't get saved too! fine...anyways...calm down Deepthi! ...i will write it all over again...from the very beginning of mankind! so this is how it went......

God! I really don't understand how you lovers out there especially students manage studies, work, boyfriends and girlfriends, breakups, heartbreaks, and also get good marks in academics...congrats to those who do! but what about those who roam round like devdas hoping to get back their love...there is this whole chunk of them...

I don't understand why one should go through so much of ordeal of losing someone...why get someone who wasn't meant for you in the first place! why not listen , when everyone who love you tell that the person is not meant for you..not the right guy for you, with a reason...all hate him / her...you agree with them...you know you wont be happy with him / her...
but u still cant take your mind off him/her...you keep asking questions to yourself...why was he like this..and wishing..." wish he wasn't like this, wish all liked him, wish he understood me the why i am trying to understand and adjust to his likes and dislikes, wish he hadn't unnecessarily hit me, wish he hadn't suspected me, wish he hadn't tried to get back into my life and leave me confused...wish this....wish that......wish...............wish.............. aaaaahh! I JUST HATE HIM! " But a second later your heart is beating out his name rather that lub-dub! Or there is the other type of ppl who stress themselves out without any reason..." look at him! why cant he see me...see how much i love them! i just hate his girlfriend! she is so sick! he is adjusting to her so much but cant see me trying to adjust myself for him! she doesn't deserve him! aaaahh! I JUST HATE HIM! .... but again..your heart beats faster for him than to pump out blood for yourself...the endings are the same! I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND!

I just don't understand why people cant understand that everything is over after the break up..how can one justify saying that we are just friends now and cheat themselves...as if those old thoughts wont bug them when they are with each other...when one couldn't make a good lover which needs so much of understanding to get to that level become a nice friend!? why cant one understand that it was just a mirage in a barren desert when you can actually leave that behind and try finding a meadow with fragrance and true love! Why cant they actually shoo off the past and enjoy the present! When i ask my friends about this they start of saying...Deepthi! you wont understand! and try to explain me that 'divine' feeling but in the end only leave me doubly confused and newer questions arising in my mind...

Anyway..its not that i haven't felt the ' divine ' feeling...it is quite but natural that one does...but i have accepted that it was stupidity to continue this since it was not to come true...so..since i haven't experienced the true love...i feel all this is so stressful...there is already enough stress in life for one to add this one voluntarily and suffer...there is slang saying in Tamil " saniyanai thuki baniyanle podardhu "...! ( which means the same as shoving mud on your own head! ) ... i might understand why people do that if i fall in love which seems such a bleak happening in the near future...hmmm...

Anyway..this is not a burning topic that i should trouble my already tiny brain with...so..happy loving and crying all you guys out there...as for me..its not my cup of tea! Am at peace now!.......................................................................

* anyway the views aired in this article are my personal opinion..am not here to prove anyone wrong or hurt their belief in love!

Bunty was writing something very slowly.
Bublu asked: "Why are you writing so slowly?"
Bunty:
"I'm writing to my 6 yr old son, he can't read very fast."

C.A.T. classes..meaoooww!

I Loaw Vocabulary Classes!

I just love vocab classes! it is fun to attend the class especially if it is Mr. Inder Mohan's class..btw..he is one of the guest lecturers...i just came back from his class...to explain a meaning of a word he wud start telling us stories connected to it...i get a feeling that i am in a nursery story time session than a serious C.A.T preparation class for vocabulary session...hehehe...quite hilarious to listen to..but actually makes the session interesting..atleast for me...since i have all the patience in the world for him to move to the next section of the hand out...

Today he was gving us meaning of words which we ought to know for C.A.T....some root words were hilarious...the word phile ( philology) means love...immediately i started to imagine someone proposing..." You are my PHILE! I phile you "! hahahaa...if i was the girl i wud run away!

There is this word which means rubbish or nothing...the act of describing something as worthless, or making something to be worthless by depreciation...don't get zapped seeing it but here it is-Floccinaucinihilipilification....ya i agree...that does represent rubbish! dont blame me if your tongue gets twisted while trying to pronounce it! it has more number of letters than the english alphabet totally have!!!!! 29 letters! By the time anyone pronounces it his / her hair would turn grey! It is also interesting to note that floccinaucinihilipilification, in its original form, is the longest word to not contain the letter E - the most common letter in the English language....ok enough of that rubbish..i mean the word meaning rubbish...;D

OK ..I think its enough of showing off that I am attentive in class...by the what...all the children reading my blog..including DJ, Maggi, Jharna ( my best buddies...)...learn that F word by tomorrow! I meant the F word in this article! ;D...its my homework! hahaha...

College memoirs....

KRAZZY 3!

These 3 years just flew by..like a roller coaster...it was fun! with all its ups and downs..it got the real me out...I just turned out to be a surprise to everyone, esp to myself...Chennai turned the Mumbai girl to a pukka chennai-ite! the quiet and reserved girl from Mumbai become the unstoppable mocke mistress in Chennai! all thanks to my perrrfect friends!

Ya so it all started with my dad getting transferred from the mumbai branch to chennai...Just like anyone wud hate leaving the place where they lived for over 18 yrs i just hated to come here...i was told that we were shifting to chennai (which only reminded me of KOOVUM river and HOT climate, sweat ( eeewww!), fighting auto guys! )....i just felt like jumping into the arabian sea...but instead flew to chennai on 10th April 2005...in a bigger version of a helicopter! it was a cute little plane with just 48 seats...and flew just above the last layers of clouds closest to earth...

After getting over the depression part of shifting we got on to the college hunt! i got through Viscom into the famous M.O.P. Vaishnav...i had no idea what the course was..i just liked the name..Visual Communication and applied , appeared for the tests and interviews and got through! LOL! anyways...

My first day of college dawned with tension and fear of ragging...i got onto the share auto and zoomed off to college! ( thanks to the share auto guys..i was never late to college! they shud be chosen in the Force India team! we wud win each time! )... But it was pretty cool...the seniors weren't the bully type..i was happy sitting in the first bench...not at all hep ( don't ask me how! i know i am from Mumbai)...but all that happiness ended with the first day!

The first month in college was just pathetic! i was new not only to this singara chennai but also to the ppl, their behaviour and to college... i like a goody to shoes and a studious freak ( which i only look like...i have
Bibliophobia! ;D ) sat in the first bench hoping for someone to match my wavelengths to sit beside me like anyone wud expect...but no..things werent supposed to be a bed of roses...i had three ppl sitting beside me talking bout books and intellectual stuff and their life..( apparently they knew each other ) I just didn't have anyone to talk to... every seemed to have their perfect match but me!

Ok ..I consoled myself saying it happens..I am not going to be friendless with my eyes going red with tears brimming over...days just went by in college without much dialogue exchange...like a kid just got into pre-kg I used to refuse to go to school...oppss..i mean college... ( oh god! was i like that! )... I was hoping for some ray of hope..a msger from god to be my frd!...lol..I was desperate!

Then came our language class...i had taken Sanskrit...thanks to our ancient language I got my buddies there...after a month! i met Adithi and Dvijavanthi a.k.a. DJ who were my classmates who had thankfully taken Sanskrit too! .. I started to talk to them and they sure were msgers from god! I slowly got to know the rest of the gang and they were coolest of the lot! just my type! why did I take so much time to know them! darn the first bench!

From then onward it was fun! we had our share of fights and misunderstandings and hugs and kisses and loaws :D...we all had different tastes but still like salt, pepper, sugar, and sour mixed together gives a nice hot and sour soup gr8 for the gloomy days ..we made a each other happy any day!

Ramachandra Canteen and the O.A.T. were our favourite spots! u could always find our hanging out in the canteen..Dj drinking tea always, Maggi having the famous Sambar rice and buttermilk, and i parcelling Potato Bondas! there comes my nick name Bonda from! hehehe...

Hanging out was new to me! But i loved to go out with them..there is no place we haven't visited...Spencers, Citi Centre, Gindy Park ( dont gimme a look...its to take pictures for our assignment! ),Ispahani, Satyam, Flowerdrum, Ashvitas, Beach, and ya the list goes on .... Chennai suddenly looked great! i learnt to fight and argue with the auto drivers in brahman tamil! they wud sometimes give a smirk...but i just don't care! i started to defend chennai from any person talking bad about it! hmmm...thats quite a change!

These girls got out the mocke in me...! getting my second name mocke mohani..which is lost now though...and since i am extremely healthy i got my third nickname..Teddy! thanks to maggi and dj...

With all the fun we had tensions tagging alone with s about projects...in the first year i used to get freaked out with all our last min work...but by the third yr i was comparatively chilled out...i knew we could finish it...god..we were good at last min work and also in breaking the promise of starting early next time! nah! we never did it... :D wat the hell! promises are meant to be broken! LOL! we only ended up blaming each other for the delay and then laughing in over it after getting decent marks...!

The college is a bit strict which made us crib every single time we got a project as to when we will get out from here...but now...we miss those terribly! the times we thot were bad were actually not so bad wen i think of it now! these 3 years were just Crazy! WOW! i love it! And now we are GRADUATES!

I realise now that i were so protected from the outer world that i didn't realise its worth..we could meet every single day and have fun!..but now..wen i step into the real world i feel those days in college were the best days of my life! but as all good things have to come to an end this chapter too had to..but who knows this new chapter may turn out to be the best one after it gets over! hahaha...the grass is always greener the other side of the fence...

Moral of the story! don't take things for granted! Live life to the fullest and one day at a time! enjoy it the way as if it were your last day God has given you! and every single day will become your best day! thanks to my friends! Guys....u have made my life great! Sniff..Sniff... :D

Faith!

Faith

Faith is something which we inculcate…Faith in friends, in colleagues, in relatives, even in God for that matter….! But there is only one faith that comes along with us to the earth in our heart and soul…Faith in our Parents….

My parents are the besssssttest parents…how many of us have told this when we were kids to other friends to boast off…and seen jealous faces…and some yelling back that No! Mine are bessssssssssstest with the stress on ‘s’! and almost all of us meant it to then…..we were innocent and got satisfied with whatever they gave us and had the faith and trust in them that they meant no harm or malice against us… but how many of us after becoming mature adults who can understand our parents better still say that….? Sad to say but no…

You may argue that it was the faith we had when we were children was blind faith with no reasoning or understanding…but no…that’s not blind faith…its pure faith…it is the faith we have in God! When he tests us we fight with him…ask him questions…tell him that he is nothing to us anymore and that we will never talk ( pray) to him…but don’t we go back to him when we are in trouble again and ask for help and mercy…it’s the faith as strong as the Rock of Gibraltar…un-shattered by any force which we have in him…that’s Pure Faith…which is something we must have on our parents and yes vice – versa too….dont worry.. i’m not talking one sided! After all I’m a youngster too…but am just trying to reason out to the senseless ( at times…come on let accept it… ) & endless arguments we have…

There is a term which everyone use as an answer to the question above- Generation Gap….ok fine…but what are we doing about it…? And moreover I don’t think its Generation Gap…our parents obeyed our grand parents without having arguments and they are still happy…of course it was due to fear.. but now nor do we have the fear to talk to them or lack of words which we spit like fire at them…have we given a thought as to from where we got that freedom from.. its surely not earned…its because of them being like friends with us….don’t you think so?

They have… atleast most of them have accepted the fact that since we have more exposure of the outer world we know much more than they do and have given us the freedom to talk and question them…they know that we wont and cant accept what they say ‘blindly’….but do we return the respect? Sometime yes and sometimes no…we tend to take them for granted… I think there lies the problem…they will listen to whatever we say! We do have that attitude most of the times…and most of the times we tend to regret it later as to why we said that…and ask for pardon…but what is told is told…from both sides…we cannot collect them back…we need to control our anger…respect the relationship we are in…and know to whom we are talking… and most importantly try analyzing whether we need to use such strong words to make our point…thus…think before you talk…may be difficult….even I find it difficult but I’m trying to change…and it works…I haven’t fought with my dad for over ten days!!!!!!! What an achievement…;D…both of us were laughing over this achievement yester over dinner! ;D…..

And also we need to express our love and affection repeatedly..even in this relationship..in this fast moving world we hardly get time to express ourselves which starts bringing a gap between the people…finally we will become intimate strangers living together…When did you last sit together and have fun and spoke openly and in a friendly way...take time off…express your love to them…assure them that you are always there for them…and respect them…and see a change in their behaviour too! Best time is dinner…try sitting together without any distractions like the black idiot box or the ever yapping and singing radio…have time off to talk and discuss casual and light topics…not troublesome family problems or something that with trigger anger…drift away from such topics…have fun.. laugh…get to know each other to the core and express yourself!

Hope I haven’t given you a feeling that I have spoken one sided…i can try talking from only our side of mistakes…I am no one to point out the mistakes of the parents in general…. have that Pure Faith in them…. and lets take the first step to change!.... So…….. Happy Dinner and a Joyous Family Time!

Fond Memories! i love my friends!
